For our German site in Frankfurtwe are looking for a

Patent Administrator (m/f/d)

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Handling patent administration and formalities activities relating to first filing and foreign filing of patent applications, oppositions, registration of transfer of rights, fee payments, maintenance payments, notarization and legalization procedures and assisting attorneys with other IP administrative matters as needed
• Interacting with national and inter-governmental intellectual property organizations, with internal and outside IP attorneys and agents to ensure the timely receipt of patent office communications and timely filing of appropriate responses
• Docketing and entering patent data into relevant databases
• Handling patent filing and prosecution (e.g., preparing formal documents, filing applications, prosecution documents, formalities, notarization/legalization procedures, interacting with international agents, and e-filing in the EPO and PCT systems)
• Managing attorney dockets and maintaining the docketing databases
• Preparing non-complex legal documents such as powers of attorney, patent transfer deeds and the like

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship as a patent paralegal, industrial or administrative clerk or comparable education
• At least 3 years of experience in IP Administration
• Qualification as patent paralegal is a plus
• Fluent in German and English (written and verbal)
• Acquaintance with patent rules and procedures
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including ability to engender trust, respect and confidence
