We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bachelor or Master student to join our research team. The successful candidate will assist in building a comprehensive genetics pipeline using data from the UK Biobank. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in genetic data analysis, bioinformatics, and computational biology within a dynamic research environment focused on hepatology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and optimization of genetic analysis pipelines.
- Process and analyze large-scale genetic datasets from the UK Biobank.
- Implement and run bioinformatics tools and software for genetic data analysis.
- Perform quality control checks on genetic data to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with the research team to interpret and integrate genetic findings with clinical data.
- Document and report analysis methods and results clearly and accurately.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to ongoing research discussions.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or similar.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases.
- Basic understanding of genetic concepts and data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior experience with large datasets or high-performance computing is a plus.
