What to Expect

The purpose of the Tesla Brandenburg Casting and Plastics organization is to facilitate the Tesla mission of accelerating the world to sustainable transportation via identification, development and insertion of advanced materials and processes while supporting other Tesla Engineering functions with materials & processes expertise. The Tesla Brandenburg Casting and Plastics teams are seeking a Project Engineer to plan, interact, lead, and execute projects from cradle to insertion.

Primary function will be to support Sr Project Engineer Casting and Plastics with tooling projects. This position will be based in Berlin and reports to the Tooling Manager for Castings and Plastics.

In this role, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the following:

What You’ll Do

Support in implementation of the three project phases:
Project initiation, Project implementation and Project completion
Support in goal definition for the entire project and stakeholder analysis
Identification and assessment of project risks
Definition of measures to reduce or avoid project risks
Determination of countermeasures in the event of project risks occurring
Coordination and definition of the project organization
Support in planning of the different project phases, deadlines and milestones
Support in budget planning, cost monitoring, milestones, deadlines and target achievement
Support in definition of process, duration, content and responsibilities for meetings
Management of conflicts, problems and risks
Preparation, execution and follow-up of status meetings
Steering of project activities, prioritization of tasks
Ensuring compliance with guidelines
Updating the project plan and documenting progress
Support in post calculation / final calculation and final reporting
Proper archiving and handover of the project

Supporting shop floor team, creating proper interface between shop floor team and engineering team

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or sufficient relevant experience - such as Tooling technician apprenticeship or internship - will also be considered.
Must be well-versed with using Microsoft Office.
Travelling to meet suppliers is key for this position and therefore the applicant must be willing to travel internationally at least 30% of the time
Must be fluent in both the English and German languages.
