Become one of our 34 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.

Your role as a Trainee – Risk Management

The purpose of the Risk, Project and Legal Governance department in BA Wind is to enable strategy execution by securing (corporate) governance, risk and portfolio management for BA Wind. A key goal is to ensure strategic and business risk and opportunity insights are integrated into our decision making.

Robust risk management is essential if we are to deliver renewable energy projects successfully, i.e. on time, on budget and to the right quality. It is also essential if we are to ensure a reliable supply of power to our customers from our renewable asset portfolio, a key enabler to achieve our vision of fossil freedom. Given the risk landscape is changing constantly, we need to be dynamic and forward-looking in our approach and adapt our ways of working accordingly. We are looking for a motivated trainee to join our team and support with our continuous improvement activities.

Your daily activities:

• Support with improvement initiatives to develop BA Wind’s risk management framework
• Support with the digitalisation of the risk management process.
• Work closely with the business to develop new risk insights linking closely to strategy and decision making.

You will be working in the department Risk, Project and Legal Governance and the position will be located in either Hamburg, Amsterdam, or Kolding.

As a Trainee – Risk Management you recognize yourself in the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering or similar. Additional qualifications in Risk Management. Resilience and/or Business continuity an advantage;
• Strong business acumen and understanding of what drives value in the renewable energy business;
• Strong analytical skills;
• Curiosity to learn and ask questions;
• Project management skills with a strong customer/quality orientation and understanding of process management are a plus;
• Excellent English skills (verbal and written);
• Comfortable working with Sharepoint, Power BI.

You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before September 2024. You are fluent in English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.
