Role Scope Statement
The role of the Field Service Technician is to safely perform a range of service activities at a customer’s facility. The services provided may consist of; inspection, removal, installation, commissioning, repair, rebuild, general maintenance, and troubleshooting of flow control equipment. The Technician is required to document all site activities electronically and submit a final report internally and externally. The Field Service Technician (M/F/T) is a critical role for ensuring Customer satisfaction and identifying value streams for Flowserve.
Accountabilities
- Actively support a positive safety culture to reduce injuries and maintain a safe work environment
- Ensure ethical behavior in line with Flowserve’s code of conduct
- Proactively calls Customer on technical interventions, like yearly maintenance
- Assess mechanical and electrical problems and take actions to resolve promptly
- Oversee disassembly, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly activities in the field according to established processes
- Installation, commissioning, and start-up activities in the field according to established processes
- Work side-by-side with Customer and 3rd party personnel, and lead work crews as required
- Collaborate with Flowserve Sales Engineers to ensure a coordinated approach to serving our customers
- Maintain organized, accurate documentation
- Load pull through opportunities into CRM
- Perform work ensuring quality service is delivered meeting or exceeding Customer expectations
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Work with management to identify and attend training to develop personal knowledge and skills
- Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude with knowledge of Flow Control Equipment
- Knowledgeable in the repair of Flow Control Equipment and equipment support systems (Automation)
- Knowledgeable in removing, installing and starting-up Flow Control Equipment
- Must be a self-starter capable of working independently with little to no supervision
- Must be a good problem solver with ability to explain mechanical & electrical concepts and articulate recommendations
- Able to remain calm and even-tempered in stressful situations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both orally and on a computer
- Must be able to travel 90% of the time with frequent overnight stays as required
- Willingness to travel international from time to time
- Must have an active driver’s license
