Project Manager Scrap Sorting (m/f/d) in Dormagen bei Hydro
Recycling is a high-growth area for the future, fitting perfectly with the broader trend towards a circular, low-carbon economy. In Hydro, Recycling is one of the strategic growth pillars with ambitious targets in use of post consumed scrap in our production. Business unit (BU) Recycling within Aluminium Metal operates 5 recycling plants in Europe, 2 in the US, 1 scrap processing plant in Germany and is currently growing.
Area of Responsibility
- Be a project manager in all phases of specific aluminium scrap sorting investment projects in Europe and US, from feasibility study to execution and completion, this includes:
- Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
- Define project tasks and resource requirements
- Develop and manage project budget and schedule
- Track project deliverables and report project progress, problems and solutions
- Support project execution on site
- Support plants and projects with your technical know-how and experience:
- Early phase investment project planning
- Guidance on selection and design of equipment
- Facilitation of knowledge sharing across plants
- Have a strong focus on health, safety and environment, best-practice project management and compliance to best available technology in all projects
Qualifications
- University degree in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant experience
- Preferably some years relevant experience from scrap recycling of metals, preferably from industrial projects, maintenance, operations or equipment supplier
- Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of project management
- Proactive HSE attitude
- Good communication skills and ability to work in an environment with multiple contributors and stakeholders
- Fluency in English is required, both oral and written, knowledge in German, or other languages is an advantage
- International mindset, mobile and eager to work with both domestic and international projects including travel. Geographic mobility is an advantage.
