The Computational Medicine Team, as part of the Global Medical Office (GMO), is at the forefront of developing mathematical and computational models, along with innovative technologies, aimed at improving the therapy of patients with chronic kidney disease. By collaborating with a diverse team of medical doctors, engineers, and biologists, we are dedicated to enhancing patient outcomes and making treatments, including drug therapies, more efficient.
This role will play a pivotal part in developing prototype and research software, designing control algorithms, and facilitating technology transfer to product development.
- Develop and implement prototype and research software tools that enable data analysis, modeling, and simulation to support our mission of improving dialysis therapy.
- Create and improve control algorithms that optimize patient treatment (focus on optimal control and model predictive control)
- Bridge the gap between research and product development by facilitating the transfer of cutting-edge technologies into practical, real world applications.
- Apply data processing techniques and create data processing pipelines to work with complex healthcare datasets to extract valuable insights and drive evidence-based decision making.
- Prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses for internal and external presentation (e.g. participation in scientific meetings, publications of research findings)
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computational Sciences, Medical Device Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar.
- Master's degree and at least 5 years of professional experience or PhD and at least 2 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of mathematical methods (control theory, optimization, modeling algorithms)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with professionals from diverse professional backgrounds
- Strong mathematical modelling skills.
- Experience in control systems and optimization algorithms
- Experience with biomedical application desired
- Knowledge of data processing standards advantageous
- Knowledge of statistical modelling techniques advantageous
- Proficiency in the programming language Python.
- Basic knowledge in programming languages such as R, MATLAB or Mathematica.
- Fluent in English
- Basic knowledge in German is an advantage
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team
