PhD Candidate - Chemist (all genders) matriculated through LMU, München
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Area: Development and application of novel, industrially relevant, C-C coupling partners.
- Based within the Process Research Group at Bayer AG, Crop Science Division, you will have the opportunity to develop your synthetic skills and knowledge alongside a highly skilled group of dedicated chemists, who are themselves solving some of the most challenging industrial chemistry problems. You will be actively developing and contributing your own ideas to your independent research program, pushing the research well beyond known limits.
- We anticipate that the work, if successful, will generate multiple publication and patent opportunities.
- There should be ample scope within the project to develop your quantum mechanical and macro-kinetic skillset, should you desire, as we strive to understand and predict results obtained.
- At the conclusion of the 3 years, you will present and defend a PhD thesis at the LMU, München.

- Your chemistry will be supported by state-of-the-art analytical facilities, the widest range of literature and search capabilities and maintenance of the highest industrial safety standards.
WHO YOU ARE
- You have a Master of Science (or equivalent qualification) in chemistry.
- You have a passion for synthetic organic chemistry and the desire to develop and apply this knowledge and your practical skillset.
- You possess good organizational skills and have the desire and drive to further improve your communication skills, your ability to establish collaborative working relationships as well as your problem-solving skills
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; German knowledge being desirable, though not necessary.
