Keysight Technologies, the world's leading electronic and photonic measurement company, is looking for a part-time (10-20h per week) working student who can support our R&D activities. The successful candidate will have a background in optics/photonics and is willing to work with us for at least one year. There will be a possibility to extend the contract and also to do a BSc/MSc thesis afterwards.
- Perform opto-electronic testing of optical components and Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs)
- Develop Python scripts to automate tests
- Analyze experimental results and evaluate component/system performance
- Participation in meetings with colleagues to present and discuss results
- At least 4 completed semesters in electrical engineering, physics, optics or related discipline
- Fundamental understanding of active and passive optical devices
- Practical experience in an electronics/optical laboratory
- Programming experience in Python/Matlab or similar for automation of instrument control and data acquisition
- Ability to work in a team and present results, also to international colleagues
- Attention to detail and willingness to produce detailed documentation
- Fluent English language skills
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in electrical engineering, physics, optics or related discipline
- Practical experience with Keysight measurement equipment
- German language skills
