ASML Berlin GmbH (formerly Berliner Glas GmbH) is a major ASML R&D and manufacturing site, with expertise in optics and wafer chuck technology. Over 1,200 employees work at ASML Berlin in Germany. They develop and produce several key components for ASML lithography systems, including wafer tables and clamps, reticle chucks and mirror blocks.
ASML is a leading supplier to the semiconductor industry. The company provides chipmakers with hardware, software and services to mass produce the patterns of integrated circuits (microchips). Together with its partners, ASML drives the advancement of more affordable, more powerful, more energy-efficient microchips.
In our high-tech small production runs, single part and prototype production, you will support us in the high-precision manufacture of optical components, assemblies and systems made of glass, glass ceramics and ceramics.
In our "Research & Technology" division, you will be conducting research in an industrial environment, which will include the basic principles for developing new components as well as the measuring and production technologies needed for the production processes. You will be working in interdisciplinary teams, have access to modern equipment and research laboratories and cooperate with institutes and universities. You will develop concepts for the next generations of our key components and work on making them real using new technologies. To do this, we are growing rapidly and are looking for new talent to join us in pushing technology to new frontiers.
Role and responsibilities

Developing innovative technologies for producing high-end wafer stage components made from glass and ceramics

Producing demonstrators to qualify developed solutions

Using the processes to realize new product prototypes

Specifying and realizing machines and systems for volume production

Transferring the developed technology packages that are ready for pilot series production to the operation divisions
Education and experience
-
Engineering degree with a focus on mechanical engineering or optical technologies

Sound experience in developing or producing precision optical components or in ultra-precision machining
-
Experienced handling of CNC machines as well as common CAD/CAM systems
-
Extensive understanding of manufacturing technologies used for machining brittle materials such as glass and high-performance ceramics

High degree of self-initiative and creativity

Good communication skills, ability to work in a team

Very good knowledge of German and English
