Your tasks

• Review the execution of large paper contracts according to the schedule, identify risks and deviations during the project execution and identify risks and develop risk mitigation plans associated with cost forecasting and time planning.
• Manage commercial and contractual impacts resulting from deviations or disruptions in time, quality or process related problems during the execution phase (off-site and on the construction site) and ensure together with the respective project team that all scope changes and deviations are gathered with evidence, properly documented and clearly traceable to the contractual scope.
• Write correspondences, compile substantiation, keep record and lead actively in claim matters as well as dispute matters, define a claim strategy, structure the claim and establish entitlement as well as proper substantiation.
• File claims against clients and subcontractors, defense claims from clients and subcontractors and negotiate with them.
• Steer contract management to ensure the project is executed and documented in accordance with the contract and be responsible for all contractual as well as commercial questions / tasks during project execution as an expert (m/f/d).
• Guide and advice the project team on contractual conditions, steer the team for a proper adherence to the defined claim/variation procedure and establish a culture of contractual deviation awareness to handle deviations proactively within the project team to ensure onshore installation adheres to contract management.

Your profile

• Successfully completed university degree in business administration, contract / international law or or similar.
• Ideally five to ten years of professional experience in the plant engineering industry, in its commercial and contract business and in its Claims Management.
• Fluent English and good German knowledge, both written and spoken; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
• Strong knowledge in any form of construction contracts, knowledge in contractual risk management and project management as well as in related tax, finance and insurance matters.
• Good analytical skills and conceptual thinking, keen on details and record keeping as well as a high level of reliability, assertiveness, good negotiation skills, advisory skills and distinct ability for interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Willingness to travel regularly (20 - 30 %) in the EMEA region.
