Your Role
Located at the Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus Dresden, the ZEISS Innovation Hub Dresden is turning today’s research into tomorrow’s applications – together with academic partners, students, and entrepreneurs. As a part of Corporate Research & Technology, we explore new technologies to build market-shaping innovation. You will

Design and build optical and opto-mechatronic systems
-
Develop and implement proof-of-concepts for application-specific solutions and workflows
-
Together with the rest of the InnoHub team, think innovation holistically beyond pure technology to generate new business opportunities for ZEISS
-
Initiate and steer projects with external partners, incl. academia and start-ups
-
Plan and conduct the build-up of a new optics lab
-
Onboard and mentor other lab researchers

Support the successful transfer of concepts, technologies, and solutions to other ZEISS units
Your Profile
-
University degree in life sciences, medicine, STEM, or technology and innovation management, ideally with a PhD
-
In-depth expertise in technical optics/ photonics, ideally incl. femto-second lasers
-
Profund experience in building optical systems in a lab
-
Good understanding of advanced imaging methods, e.g., microscopy or OCT
-
Ideally understanding of image processing incl. AI
-
Experience in supervising (PhD) students
-
An independent and systematic way of working as well as very good organizational skills
-
Fluent English language skills, a hands-on mentality, an open mind, excellent problem-solving, communication and innovation skills as well as a clear user focus

Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for new technologies as well as fun working in agile, interdisciplinary teams.
