The work schedule for this position is:
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Subject position is assigned as a mixture of manual and clerical duties: The incumbent handles unclassified mail and pouches and is responsible for all mailroom functions. S/he sorts and distributes mail, breaks down incoming diplomatic pouches, and prepares diplomatic pouches for dispatch. Individual must transport, receive and deliver, load/unload, identify and verify all incoming/outgoing DPO mail and unclassified diplomatic pouches for accountability. S/he maintains all required paperwork. Incumbent physically moves material as required utilizing dollies, hand trucks and other similar material handling equipment. S/he ensures all security standards are met for proper storage and handling of registered, certified and pouch material, performs receiving functions in the absence of the Receiving Clerk. Incumbent also performs all duties of escorting, by monitoring and escorting of un-cleared personnel within American Consulate General Munich's facilities and grounds. Operates large furniture trucks and forklift. When required, s/he performs general labor tasks including removal of snow in the wintertime and janitorial duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of experience in a mailroom or logistics/operations setting is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Must have good knowledge of general mail handling and warehousing procedures.
Completion of secondary school is required.
LANGUAGE:
English - Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing (this may be tested).
German - Good working knowledge; speaking, reading & writing (this may be tested).
