The positionentails working with the system validation for RF cellular team aswell as other multi-functional groups for wireless technologies and5G products. The Silicon Design Centre is a brand-new building forresearch and development that serves you with all you need for aninnovative work environment. With significant lab space,groundbreaking design, and a central location, the space willenable R&D teams to come together in new ways, enhancingcollaboration and innovation. In this role, you will be responsiblefor supporting an engineering team with multiple projects bymaintaining different Hardware, with a focus on prototype boards.As the Hardware Technician, you will support Apple engineers withthe rework, disassembly, and assembly of various types of devices.We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic individual who canhelp us with tomorrow’s challenges.

KeyQualifications

Superb soldering/rework skills on RFICchipset and PCB multilayer board
PCB board assembly and rework
Familiar with hot-air stations andheat-plates
Experience with the reflowprocess
Proven experience in soldering SMDcomponent size down to 01005 soldering in an R&Dlab
Experienced in manually reworkingfine-pitch ICs, uBGAs, and RF pigtails rework
Hands-on skills to disassemble andre-assemble electronic devices under constraints of high componentdensity
Ability and interest to work withmicroscopes
Basic understanding of electric circuits,schematics, and PCB viewer
Basic mechanic skills would bedesirable
Structured work capabilities, acceptresponsibilities, and seek excellence
As a go-to person, you should have goodcommunication skills, be team-oriented andself-organized
English language proficiency isrequired

Description

In the role of Hardware Technician, you will drive hardwareenablement in multiple areas for R&D labs. You will manuallysolder prototypes with the latest engineering samples, replacedefective components and improve system boards with debugginginterfaces. You will interact closely with our chip andsystem-level engineering team securing their needs. You willparticipate in schematic and layout reviews for critical componentplacements for tomorrow's innovative products. RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE: - Service provider to support lab engineers in multiplelab fields with a focus on system-on-board enablement - Performcomplicated reworks and modifications of circuit boards or productson the cutting edge of innovation - Ability to understandschematics and manage the sourcing of quick-turn prototype boards -Navigate PCB layout files and build detailed rework instructions ifvital - Prioritise and maintain stock of critical components forrapid prototyping - Align with international passive componentsuppliers - Openness to new technologies (e.g. 3D design & printingfor early prototypes) - Facilitate mechanical work - You are inregular and close alignment with test engineers, peers, and teamleads
