We have recently secured the contract for another 10 years and look forward to continuing our work within the community for years to come. To uphold our commitment to the Horowhenua District Council, we are now seeking a reliable individual to join our team as a Vegetation Control Operator.

What does a Vegetation Control Operator do you ask?

In a nutshell, your role will involve vegetation and pest plant management activities within the region's many parks and reserves. Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for carrying out chemical spraying and herbicide application, manually removing weeds, operating spray equipment and machinery, and assisting other teams as required.

Who we are looking for

Ideally, we would love someone with pest plant management experience; however, this is not essential. As long as you are a hard worker with a passion for working outdoors and getting stuck in, you would be a perfect candidate. Other success factors include:

• A clean and current driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual
• A standard GrowSafe Certificate would be advantageous but not essential
• Being a team player with a positive attitude—helping out your teammates needs to be second nature
• A commitment to adhering to the company's health and safety procedures
• Tons of motivation with a strong desire to get the job done
• Physical fitness—the role involves a lot of walking and heavy lifting
