The International Construction Manager will be the senior COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH person in Ethiopia and will have overall responsibility for all COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH services in Ethiopia, including current projects, business development efforts, and management of the Addis Ababa office. The International Construction Manager will report to the COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH Management in Germany and will be supported by COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH accounting, legal, management, and technical staff in Germany.
The International Construction Manager will represent COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH in Ethiopia to our current and future clients, local partners, and the public. He is expected to set a high personal standard and to strictly follow COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH policies and procedures, including the Anti Corrupt Practices Act. He is expected to be active in the local business and engineering community and to represent COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH at meetings, conferences, and social functions.
The International Construction Manager will be responsible for the overall execution of our projects to the satisfaction of our clients. The International Construction Manager must be familiar with and monitor the scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance of our projects. When issues or concerns are identified that cannot be fully resolved at the project level, the International Construction Manager will work with our project staff abroad to resolve the issues in a fair and mutually acceptable manner. He will be responsible for establishing and implementing a quality management plan. The International Construction Manager is expected to have a technical expertise and to serve as Project Director, and/or Technical Expert on projects as appropriate.
The International Construction Manager will be responsible for developing new business in construction projects. These services will include feasibility studies, preliminary design, final design, preparation of tender documents, construction supervision, and inspection and evaluation of existing facilities. The International Construction Manager will lead or coordinate business development efforts, including developing and maintaining relationships with current and potential clients, making presentations to current and potential clients, preparing Expressions of Interest, preparing Technical and Financial Proposals, and negotiating contracts.
The International Construction Manager will be responsible for management of the Addis Ababa office, including its communications, finances, resources, risk, quality, capacity building, and health and safety. He will establish an office budget, and monitor the office performance against the budget. He will be responsible for hiring and training office staff, purchasing office equipment, and maintaining the office facility. The International Construction Manager will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology to our local staff through on-the-job-training, periodic seminars; and external training.
The International Construction Manager will be responsible for reporting to COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH management in Germany and will from time to time make trips to COVENANT ENGINEERING GMBH offices in Germany.
