At the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Institute of Political Science, the Chair of Political science with a focus on political theory and the history of political Thought offers, subject to the availability of resources, a project position as
Research Associate (m/f/x)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
starting November 1, 2024. The position is limited until December 31, 2025 and entails 65% of the full-time weekly hours. The period of employment is governed by § 2 (2) Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).
Tasks:
- conduct research within the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (HORIZON), specifically the project “ANTI-GENDER BACKLASH & DEMOCRATIC PUSHBACK” (https://pushbacklash.eu/)
- provide expertise in the field of political science, preferably in one of the following areas: democratic theories, theories of justice, human rights, feminist theory, postcolonial theory
- assist in organizing workshops and conferences as well as with publications
Requirements:
- above-average university degree (Master’s or Diploma) in political science or social sciences
- in-depth knowledge of gender studies, particularly intersectionality, women‘s human rights, and gender equality
- ability to conduct independent scientific research
- team-oriented with teaching experience
- excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
- familiarity with university procedures and structures
