We are looking for a highly motivated student (m/f/d) for an Internship in our Diagnostics R&D Division in Penzberg, Germany. In this role, you will work in the Instrumental Analytics Chapter, the center of excellence for analytical chemistry within Roche Diagnostics, which operates on a global scale and provides expertise in a variety of high-end analytical techniques. This is an exciting environment to participate in the development of new technologies and methods for a wide range of applications. In this particular role, you will join a team of metabolomics experts and support new development.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• You will contribute to the improvements of our existing metabolomics workflow and thus be involved in sample preparation, LC/MS analysis, MS spectra interpretation and metabolites identification activities

• You will draw your own conclusions and summarize key findings

• You will present your results in a multidisciplinary team of experts

Your profile

• You need to enroll as a student either as Bachelor in (bio)analytical chemistry or closely related fields. Master of Science degree would also be considered

• Practical experience in laboratory - wet lab skills for sample handling and extraction for small molecules

• Theoretical knowledge and experimental skills in liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry and LC/MS analysis

• Basic experience with software tools for LC/MS analysis of small molecules

• Motivation, openness and flexibility for new, changing areas of work and the joy of working in a team

• You either speak German or English and not afraid of talking to international clients
