Junior Category Associate - EMEA in Hamburg bei PPG

The aero services group in PPG provides strategic direction, market knowledge, and product expertise to ASC network teams to support aerospace sales, profit, and growth objectives regarding our chemical management services (CMS) and chemical packaging services (CPS) segments. On top of these, the CMS operations, project, and supply chain functions are overseeing new site implementations as well as managing the day-to-day program requirements.

As a Junior Category Associate you are negotiating with suppliers, performing market researches, conducting supplier evaluations, cost analysis, and strategic sourcing activities.

Description

The primary responsibilities of the Junior Category Associate - EMEA includes:

• Execute defined procurement strategy for outlined suppliers within the 3rd party chemical category in the EMEA region.

• Manage assigned supplier base and relationships to the benefit of PPG shareholders.

• Work cross functionally with supply chain, operations, and business to achieve KPIs.

• Timely responses of pricing and information for contract RFQs and chemical tenders.

• Timely responses of ad-hoc price requests for non-contract business.

• Prepares and holds review meetings with key suppliers in the EMEA region.

• Manages and coordinates the supplier onboarding process.

• Keep track of RFQ´s and lost tenders to frequently review current purchase prices versus previous prices

Must maintain confidential information appropriately, and maintain all contracts, quotation, and purchase order files to facilitate rapid retrieval while meeting PPG record retention guidelines.

Incumbent must be willing and able to conduct direct negotiations with outside suppliers on a regular basis. In doing so, incumbent is expected to be able to personally influence outcomes through persuasion.

Must comply with PPG Business Conduct Policies and any legal requirements. Implements quality improvement process in daily activities as necessary to develop innovative ways to improve processes and methods of doing business. Incumbent must be able to interact in an efficient, professional, and responsive manner with all levels of PPG management and worldwide suppliers.

Functional/Technical Skills

• A bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field.

• 1+ Years of experience is preferred in supply chain or a related field.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.

• Fundamental conceptual thinking skills.

• Analytical problem-solving capabilities.

• Interpersonal and consultative skills.

• Oral and written communication proficiency.

• Excellent English skills are mandatory, German, and French skills are an advantage.

• Good project software knowledge and skills.

• Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

• SixSigma green belt certification is a plus.

• Ability to drive change where needed.

• Financial understanding and business mindset.

• Strong self-motivation, able to work autonomously.

• Travel activity up to 15%.

Success Factors
