Compliance Officer VP (all genders)

Join us at JPMorgan & Chase Co. at our newest European hub for Chase bank, located in the heart of Berlin. In this exciting chapter of continued growth and expansion for Chase, we’re looking for a passionate Compliance Officer who will provide advice on Compliance matters.
In the role you will be a leading part of a great team of Compliance Officers. You will be responsible for advising the business on regulatory topics and internal policies. You will also be responsible for implementing policies, providing trainings and overseeing operational processes relating to Compliance matters. This includes reporting to relevant governance committees and/or senior management in relation to Compliance risks. You also design and execute risk mitigation strategies, and manage internal audit and relevant regulatory exams.
Job responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on Compliance matters
- Review new product offerings to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures and regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions
- Responsible for assessing regulatory requirements and new regulations on a regularly basis
- Take a leading role in the team
- Create and maintain policies and procedures
- build and conduct a Monitoring and Testing plan
- Proactive investigation of compliance issues and report findings to internal stakeholders
- Responsible Compliance representative in the New business initiative assessment by assessing the regulatory impact and ensuring compliance with internal requirements
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of the German regulatory requirements for Banking Industry
- 5+ years’ experience in Compliance (MaRisk) with a focus on Retail Banking Industry
- University degree in legal, Business or another relevant area
- Ability to articulate complex issues concisely and communicate effectively and comfortably with key stakeholders
- Excellent communication, relationship building and influencing skills
- Precise, structured and able to work systematically
- Fluent in German and English
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with business partners
- European experience would be an advantage
