Your team
You will be part of the Central Procurement Division in the Directorate Finance. Our Directorate has approximately 100 staff responsible for the financial reporting of the Eurosystem and the European Central Bank (ECB), including the Eurosystem’s monetary income allocation scheme and the ECB’s financial and management accounting services. We also prepare the ECB’s strategic and operational planning, including its annual budget, and maintain the supervisory fees framework. The Directorate is involved in several Eurosystem committees and sub-structures in these fields.
The Central Procurement Division has 24 staff and is responsible for ensuring the success of ECB procurements by providing central coordination, oversight, advice and support services. In this context, the Division acts as a second level of control and governance for the ECB’s procurement activities. We also develop and implement the ECB’s procedural frameworks for procurement planning, execution and reporting.
In your role as Procurement Administrator, you will be part of a team that, ensures value for money and compliance with the procurement rules, and aims at identifying effective solutions and facilitating innovation. You will work closely with colleagues from all business areas in the bank and interact with external providers. Your role
As a Procurement Administrator you will:
- contribute to various steps in public procurement procedures (see examples at https://www.ecb.europa.eu/ecb/jobsproc/tenders/), such as carrying out market research, and provide administrative support for the procedures;
- work closely with all parties involved in procurement processes, both inside and outside the Division;
- provide support to the Division in the collection, maintenance, cleansing, analysis and processing of procurement data;
- compile statistical data and perform data analytics;
- contribute to the preparation of regular and ad hoc reports;
- contribute to the development of internal processes, methodologies and documentation related to the Division’s data management;
- help to prepare communications on the Division’s activities and reporting to internal and external stakeholders;
- contribute to specific activities, e.g. LEAN and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a bachelor’s degree, relevant vocational training, equivalent experience or a university degree in public administration, business administration, economics, law, engineering or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
- a minimum of two years of experience in public procurement;
- experience in supporting administrative procedures;
- experience in reporting;
- a sound understanding of public procurement;
- knowledge of SAP or another enterprise resource planning system;
- a track record of teamwork and operational resilience;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other officia
