Invent the future of industrial 3D printing with us! The DAP (Digital Additive Production) team at RWTH Aachen University works together with industrial and scientific partners to research the fundamental interrelationships of digital and additive manufacturing and transfers the findings to industrial applications. We work on topics ranging from component design and process to production and the application properties of additively manufactured components. In addition, accompanying processes such as design, quality management and the digital representation of the entire process chain are in focus of development. Individual consulting and training services complete our service portfolio. Within the framework of industry projects, the future of digital & additive manufacturing is developed and shaped in close cooperation with partners from the automotive, aerospace, turbo machinery, life sciences, machinery, tool making, and mold making industries. - Current studies in the field of computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, economics, production engineering or a comparable subject
- Programming skills are required (C++, Python, ...)
- You have a high degree of independence, motivation, and an accurate way of working
- You have good teamwork and communication skills
- You have a good knowledge of written and spoken German or English
You will work in a team of researchers on internally developed software solutions for the simulation of advanced laser-based additive manufacturing processes. The focus is on physically based modeling of the interaction of laser radiation with the material. Your tasks will include:
- Support in the further development of our in-house simulation software
- Integration of new software components for the automated handling of simulation data
- Participation in the optimization of existing software components
The successful candidate will be employed as a student assistant.
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of initially 6 months.
Further extension of the contract is possible and planned.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 10 hours.
Working hours can be arranged dynamically.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 12,00 € per hour.
