Legislative and customer requirements present vehicle manufacturers with major challenges for future mobility. Combustion engines with alternative fuels, such as hydrogen, methanol or ammonia, enable a significant reduction in traffic-related emissions. This technology is particularly important in the commercial vehicle segment, where the power density of electrified vehicles is considered insufficient. A prerequisite for the development of innovative combustion processes is the development of predictive simulation processes in 3D CFD. With the appropriate qualifications/experience, it is also possible to work as a student.
Your Tasks:
- You will be actively involved in the development of new combustion processes for climate-neutral fuels by participating in the 3D CFD simulation.
- You will carry out simulations of charge exchange, injection and combustion using computational fluid dynamics.
- You will use the tools CONVERGE, STAR-CCM+ and Python in your tasks.
Necessary Skills:
- Advanced studies in automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, physical engineering, information technology in mechanical engineering, chemistry or similar degree programs
- Good knowledge in the fields of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
- Experience in programming and data analysis using Python
- Ability to work independently and a high degree of initiative, commitment and creativity
Desired Skills:
- Good knowledge of CFD and optical flow measurement technology is an advantage
- Specialist knowledge of combustion engines
- Basic knowledge of climate-neutral fuels and their effects on combustion processes
Remuneration is based on our collective wage and salary agreement. The current monthly salary for this position is EUR 979.00. From February 2025, the monthly salary for this position will be EUR 1,012.00.
