KWS continuously offers internships on a full-time basis at our Cereals Breeding Station in Petkus, Brandenburg, Germany. The typical duration of the paid internships is at least three months in the period between April and October.

Interns (f/m/d) will get insight and firsthand working experience in practical plant breeding in one or more of the following areas:

Yield Trials
Seed Production
Line Development
Data Analysis

Your tasks can be:

Trait-scoring and all tasks related to technical breeding
Support trial-seed's production team in Italy
Hands-on work during harvest of yield trials and inbreed lines
Hands-on work in crop conditioning
Prepare and sow testing seed
Participation in lectures about practical plant breeding and management of breeding companies

Your profile:

Student (undergraduate, graduate) in agriculture, agronomy, horticulture or related fields, enrolled at a university in Germany
Strong interest in practical plant breeding
Resistance to outdoor and greenhouse work at diverse weather conditions
Willingness and flexibility to work extra hours during peak season
Cooperation and team spirit
Availability to travel
Good German language skills, English is an advantage
Driving license class B is desirable
