Job Details

To support the Operations Director by managing all aspects of the production operation to ensure achievement of business objectives. Performance to be measured against the key business performance indicators of Safety, Quality, Costs, Delivery and People Management.
To lead the Nürnberg site operations team in the development and implementation of the vision and long-term strategy for the site.

Key responsibilities

What will this role involve?

To develop and drive a zero lost time safety culture.
To ensure that high standards of quality are achieved and sustained in line with all relevant Medical Device Regulatory Standards.
To drive improvements in first time good through process improvements.
To investigate and resolve issues related to the manufacturing processes, working closely with Engineering and Quality, and following all relevant procedures (change control, CAPA, validation, training etc).
To drive continuous improvement by leading improvement projects for the further development of the site.
To support R&D with the introduction of new products and processes into manufacturing.
Identify opportunities to reduce waste and lower costs within the business using a lean manufacturing mindset.
Plan labour to achieve the business plan whilst keeping the head count within budget.
Agree a weekly / monthly plan with the planning department and to drive daily adherence to achieve the very highest levels of customer satisfaction (OTIF).
Development of skills within the team to meet both business and production objectives.
Coach and mentor, your team using lean leadership behaviours.
Perform effective direct report appraisals.
Develop robust training programs and matrices for manufacturing personnel to ensure that they are trained, motivated and multi-skilled to carry out their roles effectively.
Support the yearly budget and mid-term strategic planning by providing capacity data, labour hours and risk analyses.

What we're looking for?

Master’s Degree or First Degree in a technical or business administration, engineering, or scientific subject.
Fluent in German and ideally with a good knowledge of English.
