Business Development Manager (f/m/d) Europe - Business Line Analytical in Mannheim bei ABB
In this role, you will be responsible to proactively develop new business within new markets, as well as new and existing customers, for Business Line Analytical Europe within the Measurement & Analytics Division, with an extra focus on the decarbonization market, including Leak Detection, Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage and Low- or Zero-Carbon Fuels (e.g Natural Gas, Hydrogen, Ammonia, Biofuels). You will be empowered and responsible to identify and pursue business opportunities and strategy for sales development, you will participate in planning and execution efforts with other ABB Sales Managers and you will stablish and maintain close ties with customers, sales partners, and support groups.
Region Sales Manager – BL Analytical, Europe
- Defines, develops, and executes the strategies and business plans on focus segments/applications for identified markets in collaboration with the local sales & marketing teams and global product lines, in line with the overall business line strategy to achieve defined targets
- Drives the growth of the top line for Business Line Analytical Europe and in each target industry segment
- Maintains Opportunity Sales Funnels in Salesforce to meet/exceed sales objectives
- Activates operation intelligence, benchmarking, and analysis to identify customer needs, industry segment trends, practices, product gaps, competitor strategy, etc.
- Understands relevant regulations and standards (e.g., leak detection) in the selected market segments and disseminates relevant information to sales units to capture new business opportunities
- Maps market requirements and opportunities to actions for ABB and coordinates with Business Line, Sales units, and other relevant teams (such as Group/Strategic Account teams, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) teams) to implement these
- Drives sales development with sales partners and ABB teams for effective sales growth of the Analytical portfolio, with an extra focus on leak detection and decarbonization
- Ensures ABB’s value proposition for each target segment is developed and well communicated (internally and externally)
- Actively participates to reinforce ABB’s visibility by strengthening external market segment communication in coordination with the Marketing Communication team and by participating in dedicated customer events and segment trade fairs
- Ensures that the major accounts in the segments are identified and prioritized, and support as necessary to build and maintain strong relationships at senior levels with the key stakeholders
- Selectively leads sales efforts in close collaboration with local sales teams for focus customers and/or strategic projects and leads or participates in the negotiation of legal and commercial international frame agreements
- Feeds back regularly to the Business Line on market developments and requirements
- At least 10 years of Sales leadership experience, preferably in a large global / regional business environment
- Prior, multi-year experience with analytical measurement required
- Track record of developing and executing strategic plans and delivering results in international environment
- Strong business acumen, industrial market experience and customer centric approach
- Recognized as a strong team player, appreciated for collaboration, shaping, and supporting a diverse and inclusive culture
- Fluent verbal and written English skills, German language would be a benefit
