Role Summary:
The Precision Assembler (M/F/T) is responsible for preparing assembly work and documentation. This position will also assemble a variety of equipment and tools and fulfill testing requirements. In addition, the Precision Assembler is responsible for disassembly, cleaning, inspection and reassembly during a repair operation. This person will have access to state-of-the-art materials and tools in our facility to meet these expectations and ensure delivery of a high quality product to our customers.
Your Role:
- Complete assemblies according to drawings, instructions, and work orders, performing testing as required.
- Demonstrates an advanced understanding of inspection equipment, its functions and intended uses to ensure all parts and assemblies meet specifications.
- Ensure all parts and components are clean prior to assembly and that assembly is properly completed by following all assembly procedures.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear the required personal safety equipment.
- Operate various precision measuring tools, i.e., micrometer, vernier, and CMM (coordinate measuring machines), in a warehouse environment, as well as hand tools, i.e., hydraulic torque wrench and fire torch.
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems within assembly.
- Have a keen eye for detail and a results-oriented approach.
- Able to calculate basic math functions, including calculating rates, ratios, and percentages, and convert one type of measurement to another.
- Participate in CIP activities as required and adhere to all Flowserve policies and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and engineering drawings, safety instructions, operation and maintenance manuals, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and communicate clearly with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
- Demonstrate a customer-focused mindset for on-time delivery and quality workmanship.
- Basic computer skills to use/learn data entry systems and use Microsoft Office package.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends on short notice.
- Exhibit a demeanor that promotes team building and continuous improvement.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and safely lift to 50 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your Profile:
- Shop floor experience.
- Knowledge of automation controls and electrical components.
- Experience as a rotating machinery mechanic, mechanical equipment mechanic or general mechanic.
- General high school diploma or vocational training.
- HS Diploma / GED and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
