About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious bachelor's/master's student (m/f/d) in chemical engineering, to support our Engineering Department by doing an internship project in the field of process optimization of continuous chemical production technology for our location in Stade, Germany.

The department that will welcome you is the Process Engineering and the Technology Center supporting Dow’s global production sites for Polyurethanes, Propylene Oxide and Chlor-Alkali & Vinyls. We are an international and quite diverse team located at Stade and multiple sites in Europe, North America and Asia.
Project Description
We are looking for students for several process engineering projects. These projects typically aim to design or to optimize existing production processes in order to increase raw material or energy efficiency. The projects take place close to the production units and teams, the work typically consist of profound analysis of process data, simulation work with platforms like e. g. AspenPlus™ and the subsequent implementation of the results in the existing processes by experimental test runs.
The student working closely within a highly skilled process engineering team which consists of all relevant disciplines for process and equipment design, automation, data specialists etc.
The projects are suitable for either bachelor/master thesis projects but also as working student jobs.
Qualifications
- You are currently studying for a bachelor/master's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering
- You are fluent in German and have good working knowledge of English.
- You have basic insights in fluid and heat transfer operations and the related equipment like pumps, compressors, control valves / devices, heat exchangers, evaporators/reboilers etc.
- You have a more than basic experience level in Microsoft Excel©
- Modeling experiences in Aspen Plus™ and/or HTRI™ are a plus.
