Job Description:

As an ML Engineer, we need you to extend the performance and functionality of our products. The application areas include positioning and communication security. You are integrated in an international multi-site cross-functional team and develop and test machine learning algorithms for the above mentioned application areas. A particular challenge is to integrate the artificial intelligence algorithms into especially resource limited microcontrollers used in our products. Classical ML algorithms but also more advanced deep learning algorithms are used here. Interesting approaches like decentralized training in the network periphery and continuous training are pursued.
This position is in Berlin, Germany and is to be filled on a part-time basis (between 20 - 50%). There shall be occasional travel to other u-blox sites within Europe.

Your Responsibilities:

• Machine learning algorithms for new and existing platforms of u-blox short range products: you’ll be designing, implementing, testing and optimizing the corresponding models, data recording for ML training, data preprocessing and feature extraction.
• Simulation, design and software development tools, maintenance of dedicated ML workstation, MLOps services
• Project team collaboration, project planning support, reporting, documentation
• AI/ML research, studies, publication of research and development results
• Protection of intellectual property, participation in patenting process
• Support for other engineering teams when it concerns machine learning: usage of existing and development of new features, requirements and studies for future generations of products.

• BSc., MSc or another degree in computer science, data sience, electrical engineering or equivalent studies
• You have a couple of years of work experience with machine learning
• Solid usage ML frameworks, Python, C/C++, cross toolchain, git
• Knowledge of computer architecture in general, as well as of widely used embedded peripheral interfaces, such as UART, SPI, I2C
• Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in written and spoken English
