The Chair of Innovative Implant Development (Fracture Healing) deals with the development of new, smart implants
for the treatment of bone fractures and with immobilisation- and age-related changes in the musculoskeletal system.
The young and dynamic team operates in an international and interdisciplinary context. There is intensive cooperation
with engineering and computer science chairs, with various clinics at Saarland University Hospital, and with
Manchester Metropolitan University in England. In addition, the chair cooperates in space research projects with ESA,
NASA and DLR. The unit is located in the Surgery Department of Saarland University Hospital, which allows direct

The advertised position is for a postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) with a completed PhD and research experience in the
context of muscle atrophy, muscle physiology and sarcopenia/frailty. The postdoctoral position is part of the EU
project "Center for Digital Neurotechnologies Saar (CDNS)", which is funded by the European Regional Development
Fund (ERDF). The aim is to investigate immobilisation-related changes in skeletal muscles and neuromuscular

The pay grade assigned to an employee depends on their professional qualifications and the number of years of service. Each pay grade is
further subdivided into levels. Entry-level employees with no previous experience will initially be assigned a level 1 rating. After one year at
