Digital Business Innovation within ZDP is a cross-functional team that builds digital solutions, implements new business models, and drives strategic digital programs. We apply customer-centric methodologies like Design Thinking and Voice of the Customer and combine those with our business and strategy acumen. Join us as a Manager for Digital Technology Innovation, driving and coordinating our efforts to ignite a technology push from digital trends at ZEISS with the Digital Technology Trend Radar. Focused on customer-facing, digital technologies emerging in the market, you will drive scouting activities, qualify use-cases for relevance and finally build strong Proof-of-Concepts and MVPs that bring value to the strategic business units of ZEISS. Your role

Lead the Digital Technology Trend Radar (DTTR) activities to discover new digital technologies, evaluate them and make them usable for the ZEISS businesses
Establish, drive, and continuously review and improve the DTTR process - from identification to the adoption of MVPs
Establish and maintain a trend radar visualization, mapping relevant trends and technologies
Coach and coordinate the technology teams performing the assessment of trends & technologies – they will be staffed with experts from ZEISS Digital Partners and further ZEISS units
Perform and manage technology qualification/ assessment projects up to PoC stage together with the technology teams
Prepare steering committee stage gate decisions together with the expert teams, based on a technology’s feasibility, viability, and desirability
Ensure that the tech radar is well aligned with the needs and strategies of ZEISS’s different business units and that there is a smooth hand-over for the selected technologies

Your Profile

Excellent university degree, preferably in computer science, informatics, engineering, natural sciences or business
Experience driving an innovation process, preferably in a B2B manufacturing (e.g., medical technology) or tech industry context
5+ years of work experience in the digital tech field, for example in digital technology scouting, trend research, innovation management or in an R&D function close to the business
Experience in the software development/ implementation context, preferably with the ability to write and understand code
Innovation-driven mindset and a hands-on, can-do mentality
Strong communication and presentation skills, incl. the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds – in particular translating between technology and business teams
Experience in managing senior stakeholders and networking skills
Fluent English language skills - fluent German is a plus
