In the Performance Materials (PM) business unit, we produce and market large-volume polyurethane and polycarbonate standard products. Key applications served by Performance Materials include insulating foams for the construction industry and flexible foams for furniture and mattresses. The Rigid Foam division in the PM Research & Development organisation is responsible for the technical support of MDI customers in the EMEA region and develops short and long-term technical solutions for various MDI applications in the region, with a focus on rigid foam and binder applications for the construction industry.

What We offer:

During an internship of about 6 months, you will take on various activities in the field of development of new polyurethane foams.

You will independently conduct experiments and technical testing of the materials.

You are responsible for the independent planning, execution, evaluation and documentation of the experiments.

Personal supervision of your internship will be provided by an expert in the team, while the entire team will support you with advice and assistance.

What You bring:

You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or equivalent and are currently taking part in a Master’s degree program.

You have first experience in polymer chemistry and organic chemistry. You are

You have knowledge of physical chemistry and are interested in the physical

You have a basic knowledge of analytical methods and a structured way of working is natural to you.

You demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.

A sense of safety and responsibility as well as an active willingness to learn complete your profile.

We require good knowledge of German or English. Basic German knowledge is helpful.
The internship lasts ideally 6 months. In consultation with the university, it is possible to write a Master's thesis in this context.
