Overall Description
Business manager to support the Senior Country Officers (SCO) as well as heads of Investment Banking and Global Corporate Banking for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, reporting to the EMEA Senior Business Manager.
Role Description:
Business Management acts as trusted advisor and chief of staff to SCOs and Senior Business Heads focusing on the following:
- Build effective relationships and work closely with the business heads and the local management team.
- Drive key business and strategic initiatives for the franchise and support both the regional and global agenda.
- Proactively and on request provide strategic analyses to facilitate business progression and drive the growth agenda of the firm.
- Ensure and manage robust governance processes and procedures are in place.
- Identify, escalate and mitigate business risks.
Summary of Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in key business/strategic, regulatory, and governance priorities for the Germany, Austria and Switzerland franchise.
- Build product knowledge and awareness of business and country developments and requirements. Understand the local competitive environment and review strategic opportunities that may enhance J.P. Morgan’s competitive positioning in the local market.
- Support development of business and location impacting strategy, focusing on business and franchise growth. Partner with key stakeholders in the franchise to provide strategic guidance.
- Prepare business performance presentations/reviews.
- Act as a country representative in regional and business forums where appropriate and act as secretariat for senior location committees.
- Partner with other EMEA business managers and the corporate strategy team to drive country specific initiatives and growth areas.
- Coordinate, plan and deliver the agenda for senior J.P. Morgan visitors to location. Assist with regional / country internal communications as needed. Drive the local franchise agenda, including planning Town Halls. Coordinate with Communication team for location impacting news. Develop franchise focussed strategy offsites.
- Develop and oversee performance metrics for the business, including financial, pipeline, expenses. Manage location budget for the internal and external events, external body memberships and sponsorships.
- Responds to regulatory requests for information and manages preparation for internal and external audits.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous work experience within similar role
- Pro-active and problem-solving mind-set with ability to identify, clearly present and implement solutions
- Strong organizational and time management skills; flexibility, ability to prioritize requests and multi-task
- Solid understanding of Banking products and Investment Banking products
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated and effective under pressure
- Strong analytical and numeric skills, excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
- Ability to work independently and partner effectively
- Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls with a view to improve
