HSE MANAGER in Saßnitz bei AVANGRID

The O&M HSE Manager is responsible for providing HSE support to our Offshore Hub in the Baltic Sea. The individual will support in the definition and ensure compliance with the site HSE requirements and advise the O&M Site Manager on statutory HSE legislation, company policy and industry best practice. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day activities of the windfarm, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations, and working with cross-functional teams to continuously improve HSE performance.

RESPOSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

• Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures that meet or exceed local, national, international regulations and company policies.
• Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including conducting regular drills and training sessions.
• Conduct regular HSE audits and assessments of the windfarm to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
• Assist, coordinate and provide training and induction to employees and contractors on HSE topics, including safe work practices, emergency response procedures, and environmental compliance.
• Provide constant H&S management support to the site team by assuring through regular meetings, walk-downs and reporting
• Reviewing contractors risk assessments and method statements so that work activities relevant for the project are looked at and controlled through a permit to work system
• Lead and support in creating Hazard Analysis for Iberdrola employees and contractors working for the project
• Ensure the use of the correct Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) is assessed, documented and concluded in a Hazard Analysis.
• Manage engineering safety topics such as machine and plant safety with the support from Offshore H|S|E|Q Business Office

• Facilitate H&S project meetings with contractors, attend project meetings and represent H&S interests towards all stakeholders
• Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare HSE reports and keep senior management informed of HSE performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Act as the primary point of contact with local, national, and international regulators on HSE matters.
• Ensure that Iberdrola employees and the site contractors report accidents and incidents to the appropriate German Authorities as applicable.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest HSE regulations and best practices, and recommend changes to policies and procedures as needed.

MANDATORY SKILLS

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or SiFa.
• At least 5 years of experience in HSE management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful HSE programs in an offshore windfarm environment.
• Fluent English and German
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, as well as German regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems
• Advanced knowledge of (engineering) safety methodologies relevant for the works

DESIRABLE SKILLS

ISO 9001 knowledge desirable
Basic understanding of Wind Turbine Generators and Substations including offshore logistic
GWO certificates for offshore works
