The Role

We are looking for a Staff Accountant (SAAS/Subscription Background A Plus!) to join our team. The company has seen rapid growth over the past year and expansion in international operations.The position reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and alongside typical accounting duties like handling the month-end close and day-to-day accounting, this role will oversee international consolidations and be responsible for various technical accounting issues for the company.

What You'll Do

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of general journal and intercompany journal entries for EU and US entities in accordance with US GAAP accounting standards
• Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and actively investigate and resolve reconciling items
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts, and analyze and interpret variances
• Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records.
• Work as a primary accounting contact for monthly expenses and purchase accruals; maintain relationships with inter-departmental purchasers
• Review invoices for appropriateness prior to payment
• Assist in preparing financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system
• Support the global consolidation and reporting processes, including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates and elimination of intercompany balances and investment
• Assist Manager in preparation of Sales and Use Tax compliance and filing
• Assist in preparation of necessary audit schedules to support the financials and footnote disclosures
• Participate in ad hoc projects as needed

Who You Are

• 3+ years of progressive relevant accounting experience. SaaS or Technology industry preferred
• Previous consolidation experience and ERP system (Intaact) experience preferred
• Preferably be a CPA candidate
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of GAAP and other applicable regulatory rules, regulations, and requirements
• Excellent communication skills: proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels in a clear and concise manner
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving
• Ability to meet tight timelines; able to manage multiple priorities
• Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Experience with Zuora, Salesforce - preferred
• Strong systems orientation with a desire to drive process automation, using financial systems and tools
• Ideally, located in New York, Connecticut or New Jersey
