Executive Assistant to the CIO
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Be a trusted partner to the CIO, and enable the CIO to maximize his impact by helping balance priorities and communicate effectively, working closely with the CIO’s leadership team
MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Managing CIO office
Work closely with the CIO’s Leadership Team
Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships within the IT and other business functions, be the “go to person”
Direct and manage CIO agenda through planning and attending (CIO) leadership team meetings. Prepare materials for these meetings, track all the commitments that result from each meeting and follow up with the responsible parties to make sure that action items from meetings are executed
Identify issues that could impact the organisational health and successful execution of the CIO’s commitments, advocate on behalf of employees to the CIO and being able to communicate wants, needs, concerns and ideas from employee to CIO in an effective and efficient way.
Understand the IT (and corporate) strategy and align CIO’s competing priorities and opportunities
Assess inquiries directed to the CIO and have the discernment to understand what can be deferred and what is important, and determining the proper course of action
Manage projects that have no natural home in the functionally-organized IT department:
Organise and coordinate departmental activities and (leadership) events
Plan and coordinate detailed travel arrangement and ensure thorough and timely preparation of travel: agenda, visa, flights, itinerary
Networking / Relationship Building
Identify opportunities to create cross group collaboration, bring teams together
Connect with board members and senior level executives, as well as with our colleagues on all levels.
Organise and facilitate cross-collaborative initiatives
Identify technology innovation initiatives in the company and connect/inform relevant IT representatives
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Core skills:
Proactive, anticipating and self-motivated
Strong communicator, interpersonal skills and ability to build coalitions broadly throughout the company, also with remote teams
Excellent organizational skills
Able to work effectively in a highly complex, diverse and changing environment
Strong diplomacy and problem solving skills
Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working on sensitive business and organisational issues
Global mindset with significant international experience
Experience:
Experience in a similar position
Excellent English language skills in word and writing
Affinity with Technology
Minimal qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
