We actively invest in our team members to support their long-term growth so they can continue to advance our mission and achieve their highest potential.
Join a team committed to taking big leaps forward for a global community of healthcare professionals and their patients. Together, let’s advance the world of minimally invasive care.
The Vision Automation & Test Systems team develops software and applications for key equipment and instruments to support test & calibration of ISI vision systems which are essential to the exceptional visual performance of da Vinci robotic systems for surgical operations. As a key member of the software team, you will work with cross functional teams to develop, integrate, document, and release software applications and create software infrastructures that interact with complex optical and/or mechatronics systems and image process algorithms for efficient test and calibration of mass-produced ISI vision systems. You will:
- Work with dynamic cross functional teams to architect, design, develop, release, deploy, and document software applications that controls complex optical and mechatronic systems to test and calibrate the vision systems including stereo cameras (endoscopes), lighting and image pipeline control, and virtual reality console for multiport da Vinci robotic systems.
- Integrate and implement image processing and closely related algorithms for test and calibration of vision systems
- Work closely with system/embedded software team to create and maintain new APIs to support test and calibration
- Architect and develop software infrastructures to support rapid prototyping and development of complex test and calibration equipment and instruments.
- Understand each new product’s operation and control, and develop the means to ensure their integrity in volume production
- Create, develop, and follow good software development and documentation practices.
- Work independently to overcome roadblocks with minimum guidance
- Take ownership of manufacturing software and work with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering (Software Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
- Solid industrial software development experiences
- Strong programming skills and experience in C# and/or C/C++
- Solid knowledge and understanding of OOA/OOD/OOP/Design Patterns
- Passionate about technologies and love programming
- Experiences with cameras, image sensors, or image processing fundamentals is preferred
- Good experiences with control of optical and mechatronics systems or automation systems is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with MATLAB is a plus
- Enjoy the thrill of tackling significant complex problems in cross functional teams
- Excellent ability to communicate complex concepts
- Detail-oriented team player
- Foster a strong sense of team with peers through solicitation of feedback and constructive contribution to review sessions
- Demonstrated technical leadership
- Travel requirements will generally be less than 10%
