Your department:

Digitalisation Energy Management (MED) unit supports the Energy Management (ME) business owners in managing the business requirements for the IT systems on behalf of ME, with a professional interface towards IT. Furthermore, the unit supports the commercial energy management process with automation, analysis, structuring and pricing, and by providing an algorithmic trading infrastructure. MED creates significant value for Statkraft and its customers by delivering next generation digital solutions in Energy Management. The unit’s responsibility requires an in-depth understanding of the business processes and system landscape in ME.

You will work in Energy Management Systems Continent & Market Access Platform (MEDC), a team that delivers Product Ownership, development and improvements of systems supporting the Energy Management of Continental Market Access and Origination Business as well as 3rd party flex assets.

Job Description

As a working student in the MEDC team you will support the team in the following areas:

• Analyzing ETL processes and data flows
• Designing automated tests to ensure data quality - most of the data in scope is timeseries data.
• Aggregating and visualizing data
• Supporting the team in the development of new features and processes

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field
• Some experience with high-level programming languages, preferably Python, and able to write efficient search queries and prompts
• Experience with data visualization libraries like matplotlib or seaborn, and data manipulation tools like pandas, polars, spark, MATLAB, or R is an advantage
• Understanding of the basics of RDBMS, SQL and ETL processes, preferably some experience with designing RDBMS
• Experience with bulk data processing, REST APIs, and networking is an advantage
• Eager to learn and able to work independently
• Some knowledge of the energy industry is an advantage
• Good command of Microsoft products (Office, Azure, VSCode)
• Excellent communication skills in English is a must
