Student worker
(f/m/d)
who is eager to learn and to collaborate with our research and development scientists.
Keys to success
- A hands-on student who has a talent for precision mechanics and/or sophisticated electronics
- Interested in technology and science
- Student in physics, engineering, chemistry or related science, or equivalent education
- Good at open communication, likes to work in a team, eager to learn in an international environment
- Experience in writing programs for instrument control applications and/or data analysis using Python or other programming language
- Availability 10h-20h per week
- Language skills in English and German
Your tasks and responsibilities
will be diverse and exciting, with the opportunity to participate and learn in product development projects in a motivated, open, multi-disciplinary team, where different opinions are valued:
- Supporting our scientists to complete experiments in the laboratory
- Working in a team together with engineering to support the build of prototypes
- Testing new devices (electronics, mechanics, and ion optics)
- Maintaining existing devices (part exchanges, maintenance of ion optics)
- Handling vacuum equipment like fore vacuum pumps and turbo molecular pumps
- Supporting by testing instruments according to the test protocols
- Conducting data evaluation tasks by using a programming language
- Developing instrument control software procedures to support research and production
