Result areas of the department

Oikocredit International (OI) raises equity capital from retail investors in Germany via its local entity. The German branch oversees all topics related to the marketing approach and implementation, the strategic partnerships in Germany, the seamless customer journey and the operational continuity and compliance of the branch. The PR Specialist is part of the German marketing and communications team, which is part of the German branch.

About the job

The PR Specialist supports the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategy in Germany based on Oikocredit’s global strategy.

Main responsibilities

• Work with the team lead Marketing and Communications to define and implement a marketing and communications strategy on national level with a focus on public relations. In this regard you will serve as a spokesperson for Oikocredit in Germany.
• Responsible for press activities in Germany like press releases, press events, press conferences, establishing and maintaining press contacts, networking with relevant like-minded institutions for public relations, working with the marketing team on a content plan, monitoring press clippings, develop and implement crisis communications and media strategy, as needed.
• Responsible for the placement of nationwide advertisements.
• Serving as the point person for journalists and external service providers such as media and PR agencies.
• Collaborate with the global Investor Relations team generally on global PR topics and activities.

Qualifications, skills, and experience

• Advanced university degree in Marketing/Communications or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Marketing/Communications, ideally of financial products
• Familiarity with the financial markets regulation as it relates to marketing investment products in Germany.
• Strong media relations abilities.
• Digital PR expertise.
• Ability to identify target audiences.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Alignment with Oikocredit’s values in particular and commitment to the goals of impact investment generally.
• Native German level, fluent English.

Additional remarks

Willingness to travel within country up to 15-20% of the time. Flexibility with respect to participating in meetings on weekends (compensated in line with Oikocredit’s policy).

Location preferably Frankfurt, but any other office of Oikocredit in Germany can be discussed (Stuttgart, Berlin, Bonn, Braunschweig, Hamburg, Nürnberg). Remote work options.
