Established in 1973, the FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP (WRC) is widely regarded as the most challenging motorsport championship in the world. In 2023, the roads on this epic motorsport adventure are spread across 13 rallies on everything from snow packed forest tracks to rock-strewn mountain passes. The WRC Promoter GmbH is responsible for all commercial aspects of the WRC since 2013. Through its aligned company Rallycross Promoter GmbH this position will also work for the promotion of FIA World Rallycross Championship and the FIA European Rallycross Championship.

Across its portfolio of championships, in 2024 and beyond WRC Promoter will be responsible for over 30 major motorsport events per year, spread throughout the world, and involving a large number of automotive, broadcast and commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- All responsibilities relate to both WRC Promoter GmbH and its Championships (FIA World Rally Championship and FIA European Rally Championship).
- Implement the Promoter and Championships´ Sustainability Roadbook.
- Maintain the 3-star accreditation within the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme, and onwards towards the ISO 14001 / ISO 20121 certification(s).
- Provide guidance and support to all stakeholders within all championships to attain the FIA 3-star accreditation and implement best practices in environmental management.
- Create and deliver with other internal departments specific sustainability projects.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to staff at all levels on issues relating to sustainability.
- Promote and carry out change among event promoters, teams, and partners within each championship and the wider rallying community.
- Lead and take full responsibility for the Promoters' and Championships' carbon footprint measurements.
- Support relevant internal and external audits and shareholder reporting on sustainability topics.
- Support the development of regular internal and external reporting on sustainability KPI’s within the company’s operations and as part of the broader sustainability strategy.
- Degree in environmental sciences, business administration, economics, or similar.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar sustainability role, preferably within sports or event settings.
- Relevant subject matter expertise in the field of sustainability.
- Previous experience of quality assurance systems such as ISO 14001 / ISO 20121.
- Proven track record of multi-stakeholder carbon footprint measurements and reporting.
- A track record of working within a team of operational staff in a complex sporting regulatory environment.
- Demonstrable excellent project management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written English and German communication skills. Additional languages are a plus.
- Commitment to promoting sustainability within the organisation and its stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the Motorsport industry.
- Excellent computer skills. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and MS Office is appreciated.
- Results and detail-oriented, can-do attitude, tenacity, autonomy.
- Proficient organisational, prioritisation, communication and administrative skills.
