The teams in Fulfillment Offering are solving exactly this challenge for all of Zalando’s customers. We build the systems that provide delivery information throughout the shopping process (product detail page, cart, and checkout), selecting the most relevant options for our customers and the business. To achieve this we build and operate highly available systems at scale. We influence the customer experience with every decision we make, so we are constantly running experiments and learn from the results.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

• You will be part of an agile software development team, taking ownership of the whole development cycle, from design, to development, delivery, operations, and continuous improvement.

• You will work on software systems that impact millions of customers every week

• You will influence your teams decision on the technologies and tools to deliver and operate scalable microservice-based applications on AWS

• You will collaborate with our product organization and stakeholders from other teams, become an owner and expert of our domain

• You will help us become better, by providing active feedback, and you will mentor and support the development of more junior colleagues

• You will write Kotlin code that your peers praise for its elegance, readability, and maintainability

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF

• You have experience with microservice architectures, RESTful services, and API design.

• You like to take end-to-end ownership for the entire development cycle: Analyze, Design, Implement, Test, Ship, Maintain

• You ensure great code quality through code reviews and pair programming

• You are passionate about operational excellence with a keen attention to monitoring and logging

• You promote a strong culture of continuous improvement for yourself and your team

• You have experience with a JVM based language like Java or Kotlin. Knowledge of the Spring Boot framework is a plus.

• You are fluent in English and clear & structured in your verbal and written communication
