The Mechanical Design Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the implementation of post-launch design changes for medical devices. In this role you have the possibility to initiate and execute design reviews with a multi-functional team.

This position is part of the R&D department located in Munich and will be hybrid. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead implementation of post-launch design changes for medical devices

• Collaborate and coordinate between functional groups such as Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Service

• Create design change documentation and ensure design change process compliance

• Generate design concepts, develop detailed designs, ensure design meets specifications and fulfills its purpose

• Create and revise technical specifications

• Analyze data from installed base and drives root cause investigation

• Work with suppliers to ensure manufacturability and to address technical issues

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering with relevant working experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts in mechanical engineering and ability to employ sound project management

• Mechanical Design – Expertise regarding mechanical processes and capabilities that impact design

• Confirmed understanding of CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks preferred)

• Design Control – Knowledge in the application of design controls and development processes

• Strong written and verbal English communications skills; German is a plus
