What You’ll Get to Do:
As a CACI-Wexford Security Force Assistance (SFA) Advisor, you will bring your analytical and technical expertise to work on projects for the DOD and Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR). You will research, develop, analyze, assess, and support various defense and security cooperation initiatives and engagements supporting current USG -DOD policies. As a trusted advisor to SOCEUR, you will look to identify, analyze, and evaluate complex security and defense systems, policies, procedures, and processes to provide solutions for SOCEUR, allies, and partner nations. SFA comprises all Department of Defense (DoD) activities to encourage and enable international partners to work with the United States to achieve strategic objectives. It includes all DoD interactions with foreign defense and security establishments, including all DoD-administered Security Assistance (SA) programs, that build defense and security relationships; promote specific U.S. security interests, including all international armaments cooperation activities and SA activities; develop allied and friendly military capabilities for self-defense and multinational operations; and provide U.S. forces with peacetime and contingency access to host nations. It is DoD policy that SFA is an important tool of national security and foreign policy and is an integral element of the DoD mission.
More About the Role:
As a Security Force Assistance (SFA) Advisor, you will provide security cooperation planning and operations support to clients, including the assessment of, planning, coordination, and execution of programs and activities to build allies and partner nation SOF capability and capacity.
You will conduct analysis, provide recommendations, and support staff planning in combatant command and planning conferences, working groups, and staff processes to align service capabilities and activities with Joint and service strategic objectives. You will coordinate with US European Command (EUCOM), Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) -, SOCEUR staff and operational units, and foreign partners to identify and validate partner nation Special Operations Forces (SOF) capability gaps and requirements. You will prepare SOCEUR security cooperation proposals through EUCOM to the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy (OSD-P) and Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) to fill partner nation SOF requirements. You will brief SOCEUR security cooperation proposals to EUCOM and support EUCOM briefs to OSD-P, Joint Staff, and DSCA as necessary to gain approvals and funding. You will implement approved security cooperation programs and equipment packages, assess effectiveness, and provide constructive feedback to SOCEUR and EUCOM staff. As required, you will brief assessments and may represent the client organization. You may serve as a client liaison and coordinate with government personnel, technical experts, and sub-contractors.
