The Opportunity:

Senior Lecturers have academic leadership responsibilities which typically involve a combination of the following, in discussion with their Deputy Head of School/Head of School/Dean of Faculty:

• Responsibility for a programme or suite of associated named awards/programmes
• Module leadership of several large, core module
• Overall responsibility for a year group or cohort within a large programme
• Line management of Lecturers (who may themselves lead modules)
• Teaching duties (and associated activities) normally up to 8 hours per week as agreed with the relevant DHOS/HOS/Dean of Faculty

About You:

We would like to hear from applicants who have;

• Masters’ Degree or equivalent professional qualification/professional experience in relevant subject area and recognition from external stakeholders/agencies i.e. PSRBs, external examination, consultancy
• Understanding of relevant University HEI procedures and policies (e.g. quality and
  governance) and industry standards; ability to manage own area accordingly

• Significant and successful track record of teaching, learning and assessment practice in a relevant discipline /subject at different HE levels. Experience of the UK higher education context would be an advantage. We are looking for academics with expertise across a range of subjects that align with our programme portfolio. We are launching our new postgraduate programmes in Data Science and Cyber Security in our Berlin study centre and are particularly keen to hear from applicants with skills in these disciplines and experience in teaching modules at this level.
• Formal experience of line managing other academics.

• Knowledge and experience of reviewing, modifying, developing and enhancing curriculum and programmes to ensure QAA benchmarks and professional, employer and sector expectations are met to a high level.
