Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Cellular Systems Test Engineer for the Wireless Systems team to help develop best in class telematics solutions. The role involves architecture, design, and validation of cellular (LTE and 5G) based solutions for telematics systems across Tesla vehicle platforms (S, 3, X, Y, …). The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams, network operators and external suppliers.

The ability to work independently and creatively to solve challenging design problems is of paramount importance. This position involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with tight timing constraints.

• 
  Contribute to Tesla’s global wireless connectivity solution development process
• Design end-to-end test plans, procedures and scripts for Tesla’s cellular protocol stack
• Provide support to software development and manufacturing teams
• Work on root-cause issues reported by other QA teams and customer feedback.
• Collaborate with external solution vendors to develop and integrate new features into Tesla’s end-to-end connectivity platform
• Contribute to test automation frameworks and data analysis tools
• Analyse telemetry data and identify fleet wide issues and areas for improvement

• 
  Excellent understanding of LTE/UMTS/CDMA/GSM.
• Working knowledge of 3GPP protocols, particularly LTE/LTE Advanced features
• Experience or knowledge in 5G NR protocols is a plus
• Familiarity with other wireless technologies (WiFi/Bluetooth/BLE) is a plus
• Field trials/testing, IOT, IODT knowledge or work experience
• Good understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Skilled at Python and Shell scripts
