- Builds trusting relationships with partners to grow business and develop deep understanding partner priorities, strategies, and goals and how they align with Microsoft’s. Understands markets and partner trends and develops connections with key market players to close and execute on business opportunities.
- Develops familiarity with renewal and new deal negotiations. Operates within established contractual parameters.
- Solicits input from leaders and team members to develop an account vision based on partner business goals and value propositions for products, channels, or solutions.
- Leverages internal resources to communicate the value of partnering with Microsoft over competitors and proactively seeks guidance from more senior account managers on potential risks or complexities in accounts.
- Collaborates with internal teams (e.g., category, specialist sales, marketing) to support partners. Shares overall business plans with relevant stakeholders.
- Assists with selling newer, modern solutions and services ecosystem to partners to support Microsoft’s mission and drive customer satisfaction. Articulates the impact of modern solution ecosystem on partner business in collaboration with team members.
- Attends internal and external events and training to maintain up-to-date awareness of industry and competitor information. Develops professional connections, builds networks, and gains understanding of industry, competitor, and market trends. Leverages learning from the events to provide input and feedback on improving future events.
- Participates in technical discussions with partners on the specifications and assortment of Microsoft's categories, products, services, and/or channels within their scope of responsibility. Collaborates with teams in Microsoft Consumer Business (MCB) to share accountabilities. Learns about One Microsoft value propositions.
- Works with internal stakeholders and partners under guidance of team members to develop joint business plans that generate revenue for the partner and Microsoft. Considers short- and long-term goals.
- Assists with managing and executing account plans to ensure Microsoft and partner sales goals are on target. Holds self and partner accountable for executing on plans.
- Drafts and shares reports, with guidance from other account managers, that include account updates and basic metrics (e.g., reach, frequency, yield, transaction size) to help evaluate revenue and activation targets.
- Reconciles partner reporting data, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and drives actionable outcomes from customer feedback surveys. Creates, negotiates and executes special sell-through promotions, and ensures that proof of execution and claims are provided in compliance with guidelines. Responds to feedback from audits and solves past financial reconciliation.
- Assists with forecasting for products and/or partner accounts to examine account trends, monitor progress, and identify opportunities for growth.
