With its groundbreaking industrial and commercial setup and its unique certification and flexibility, European Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) showcases how European industry can find innovative ways to support strategic autonomy needs and prepare for the Future Combat Air System. European MALE RPAS is not just the first programme to fully implement digital design manufacturing and services (DDMS). It is also seen as a ‘light-house’ programme, not only within Airbus, but also for the entire aeronautics industry in Europe.
Eurodrone is a program in which Airbus has the Prime role. It will be the first AIRBUS Defence and Space programme implementing a complete PDT / IPT setup and AGILE ways-of-working based on the SAFe governance model.
In the department Platform Operational Support we develop software for mission support systems and services for all flying platforms in our portfolio such as Eurofighter, A400M, Eurodrone or FCAS.
Due to the increasing complexity of mission planning, a growing number of mission participants and the need to replan ever faster, new challenges arise for mission planning systems.
We meet these challenges with tailor-made software solutions, which will be further developed for cross-platform collaboration in the future. Join our software development team to take part in the implementation of the Eurodrone Ground Mission System (GMS).
In our agile development teams, you will work hand in hand with experienced software developers, architects and system engineers to directly support the operators of Eurodrone aircraft in their exciting and demanding missions.

Your tasks and responsibilities
You become part of the evolving development team for the Eurodrone Ground Mission System (GMS), to contribute to the GMS realization
You take over software engineering tasks throughout the GMS life cycle, including software design according to the provided requirements, software implementation, unit and integration testing
You take over responsibility for software and interface design tasks considering aspects like feasibility, reusability, maintainability, safety, technical performance and IT-security
You ensure full compliance with rules and regulations resulting from software and aircraft development standards applicable to our project
You live our agile transformation by following our processes, continuously identifying and leveraging improvement potential and contributing to an increase of automation
Desired skills and qualifications
You have an university degree in computer science or equivalent qualification
You have a thorough foundation as developer in object-oriented programming languages and an overview of current technologies in the Java eco-system
You feel comfortable to develop in a
Java Enterprise and Unix environment
You have experience in following development processes (e. g. Scrum, V-Model) and are a strong team player, able to work self-organised with an ambition for high quality
You master source code management systems as well as UML, OO design and design patterns
You have experience or are interested in data analysis and visualization in the mission planning domain
You speak English at negotiation level, German is a plus
