Software Engineer - Microscopy (f/m/x) in Oberkochen bei ZEISS Group
Your role
You will have the opportunity to use our software platform ZEN Core (
https://www.zeiss.com/microscopy/de/produkte/software/zeiss-zen-core.html
) to apply the latest knowledge of software development for day-to-day work and thus continuously expand the functionality of our electron microscopes for worldwide research.
Your tasks are

The development of new functions and components in the backend and the application software for our electron microscopes

Conceptualizing, specifying and designing the control of complex microscope components in close cooperation with our software and firmware development teams and our external partners

Ensuring the interaction of individual components at all architectural levels (full stack) and their integration into complex workflows and ultimately testing them in the overall system

Optimizing memory efficiency, CPU usage or IO throughput

The creation of specifications, designs and documentation
Become part of our international and agile team of experts! Work with us on a modern client-server architecture and use a state-of-the-art toolset (e.g. Git, continuous integration, automated testing).
Your profile

A successfully completed degree in computer science, natural sciences or engineering or a comparable qualification

Career starters with a passion for software development in an industrial environment or young professionals with experience in software products for complex instruments

Comprehensive knowledge of object-oriented programming, whereby multithreading is part of your regular practice

High quality awareness and intrinsic interest in good code (clean code, reviews, testing, readability)

Independent, structured and team-oriented way of working, combined with a high level of self-motivation to stay at the cutting edge of technology

Very good language skills in English
