Department Overview:
Our Cost Management Team at RLB proactively manages the cost of a building project, from the initial design stages through to the building’s completion and sometimes even the costs incurred through maintenance and operation once the building is up and running. We are now seeking Assistant Quantity Surveyors / Cost Managers at this exciting stage of the team’s expansion, establishing a team of future leaders in the local and European market.
Overview of Role:
We are currently recruiting an Assistant Cost Manager / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a client focused team in our growing European HQ in Amsterdam. This is an exciting opportunity to join and strengthen RLB’s team while working in a supportive environment, on interesting projects.
The role presents an opportunity to work across Data Centre projects as well as residential, commercial, life sciences, retail, industrial and more in the future while our team continues to develop, diversify and as RLB’s European business continues to grow.
The role will involve supporting Senior Cost Managers, Associates and Partners on a range of projects. As you progress and develop you will have the opportunity to manage your own schemes in the future.
The role also offers a platform to develop and opportunities to progress while working alongside a diverse and impressive team on exciting projects for international clients.
The role also involves opportunities to travel, as RLB are currently working in various European countries for various clients.
Person Specification:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline e.g. Cost Manager, Cost Expert, Cost specialist, Kostendeskundige, Bouwkostenadviseur, Bouwkostenmanager
- Some QS / Cost Management experience within a similar role
- Desire to work in an international consultancy environment.
- Client facing, enjoys providing a good service.
- Able to build long-term relationships.
- Previously employed by a consultancy, contractor, developer, or client-side organisation.
- A track record of working with teams.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and deliver to deadlines.
- A team player, collaborative, flexible, and career focussed.
